“MUSE”
The critical study of mythological subjects in classical oil painting is one of my creation
motifs, which restores the
neglected female experience by exposing the objectification of females as Muses
and their oppressed survival space. Women's experiences as narrative subjects
challenge the male-centric narrative in classical painting.

Appropriating Bouguereau’s The Oreads, the gestures of the figures are created to be on the edges between flattering and struggling. Their faces were deliberately erased and add thorns to de-obsceneize the otherwise feminine pose and to restore the dilemma of the gazed woman.
